Signs You Need Stump Grinding
- A stump that's a mowing or tripping hazard
- Wanting to replant, reseed, or landscape right over the spot
- Getting a yard ready to sell
- Old stumps left behind from tree work someone else did
How It Works
- 1
We grind below grade, not just flush, so nothing's left to trip over or dull a mower blade
- 2
The root flare and visible surface roots get ground down along with the stump
- 3
Wood chips from the grind are left for you to use as mulch, or hauled off if you'd rather
- 4
Hole gets backfilled so the area is ready to landscape or reseed

Questions,
Answered
Don't see your question here? Give us a call and we'll walk you through it.
How far below the surface do you grind?
We grind stumps below grade, not just flush with the ground, so you can plant, seed, or landscape right over the spot afterward.
What happens to the wood chips?
We can leave the mulch for you to use around your yard, or haul it off, whichever you'd rather have.
Do you remove the roots too?
We grind down the visible root flare and surface roots near the stump. Deeper roots stay in the ground - they break down naturally over time and won't send up new sprouts once the stump itself is gone.
Can I plant something right where the stump was?
Yes, once we've backfilled the hole. Give the ground a little time to settle first if you're planting something with real roots.
